Hudson
Rye
Tasted Up Against: Pikesville Supreme 4 Yr; Sazerac 6 yr; Old Potrero 4yr
Clearly this rye is in good company. For a 3-4 month old whiskey to hold its own against 4-6 year old competition is remarkable. We were impressed with its distinct nose, pleasant oily taste and its mellow finish. We picked up strong notes of bitter chocolate. The numbers work out to between a "Good/Recommend" to "Highly Recommend".

4-Grain Bourbon
Tasted Up Against: Ezra Brooks 4yr; Very Old Barton 6 yr; Maker's Mark; Corner Creek 4-Grain 8 yr
Distinctive non-bourbon nose-some rye spice but under notes of scotch like mustiness. The flavor surprises with its unfamiliar unconventional impressions of rye and scotch. The taste lingers after the long finish, challenging preconceived notions of what bourbon should taste like. It is altogether pleasant and a change from the ordinary. We recommend this bourbon to anyone who wants to expand their horizons and sample the difference of a 4 grain mashbill.
